POSITION OVERVIEW
Diamond Electric Manufacturing Corporation seeks a Senior Account Manager – OEM in Farmington Hills, MI responsible for providing technical engineering expertise and product support to Diamond Electric’s sales/marketing teams and facilitating the sale of the company’s automotive electronic control products. This role serves as a technical liaison between the Design Engineering team and Diamond Electric's OEM automotive customers.
SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
- (i) providing ongoing technical/engineering support with respect to electronic control products and ensuring optimal communication between manufacturing and engineering departments;
- (ii) defining customers’ contract requirements, analyzing market competitors’ product offerings, and developing and executing a winning technical sales strategy to meet business growth objectives;
- (iii) creating and making technical product presentations with respect to engineering prototypes and tooling recoveries, price breakdowns, Bills of Materials (BOMs), warranty management, and contractual and technical issues during the product life cycle;
- (iv) liaising between customers and internal personnel to resolve issues pertaining to customers’ technical product specifications, engineering capabilities and limitations, and product material requirements;
- (v) analyzing the electronic control product portfolio and setting short and long term account sales objectives;
- (vi) performing technical product demonstrations to new and existing customers and writing technical documentation for products;
- (vii) providing marketing, business development, and product engineering support to cultivate and ensure opportunities for future business development and market penetration;
- (viii) assisting with target market analysis and advanced planning, budgeting, and resource control for assigned book of business to ensure that proper business goals are achieved;
- (ix) attending meetings with Diamond Electric’s subsidiaries in Japan, China, and Hungary (among others); and
- (x) providing complex financial and non-financial analyses related to production capacity, short and long term impact, sales forecasting, inflation/cost, and BOM/COGS.
QUALIFICATIONS and JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must possess a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a directly related field and six (6) years of sales engineering experience in the automotive industry.
- Must have six (6) years of experience with each of the following: (i) Direct Tier 1 (Big Three) sales suppliers; (ii) managing sales reporting, forecasting, pricing, contracts review, tooling recovery, tooling disposal, and overdue invoices; and (iii) quoting new projects and engineering changes.
- Must also have three (3) years of experience with Ford, including three (3) years of experience with each of the following: (i) Ford engine applications and N.A. manufacturing plants; (ii) Ford Covisint system for WebQuote, Ariba, MCPV, GPIRS, Super G, eAPQP, DETC, FCSD, GSDB Online, CMMS/eDDL, Tooltracking, Fleet Calculators, F1271, and Packaging System; (iii) Ford PPAP process (TT/PP/EJ1) and Tooling replacement; (iv) solving supply chain and quality issues; and (v) implementing new engineering programs.
- Must also have one (1) year of experience with each of the following: (i) Japanese OEM (Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, etc.); (ii) FCA (eSupplier Connect System, CNs, Capacity Management, Tooling Invoicing, WebRFQ, and OEE), capacity, bottle neck, and takt time.
- Experience can be concurrent.
- Must also have any knowledge of/experience with engineering program management.
- Must be willing and able to travel to client locations up to 25%.

Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes while coordinating quality, inventory, logistics, materials, costs and production.
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform any/all tasks related to Manufacturing Specialist
- Make PLC/HMI changes to equipment with little or no assistance/guidance from Lead Manufacturing Engineer
- Monitor daily defect and downtime issues. Report findings to Lead Manufacturing Engineer.
- Modify documentation based off recommendation / guidance of Lead Manufacturing Engineer
- Manage small to medium scope equipment modification projects
- Design, quote and purchase small to medium scope project tooling using direction from Lead Manufacturing Engineer
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year Engineering Degree, Electrical or Mechanical.

- Make PLC/HMI changes to equipment with no assistance/guidance from Lead Manufacturing Engineer
- Monitor daily defect and downtime issues. Report findings to Lead Manufacturing Engineer and/or resolve issues without supervision
- Modify documentation with approval of Lead Manufacturing Engineer
- Manage large scope equipment modifications.
- Design, quote and purchase large scope tooling using approval from Lead Manufacturing Engineer
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year Engineering Degree, Electrical or Mechanical.
